Return a key or fob

Check a signed-out key or fob back into the front desk and record its condition. You need a staff account with access to Key Log.

  1. Open Operations → Key Log in the sidebar.
  2. Select the Out tab (overdue keys still show a row badge).
  3. Find the key — use Search key, unit, person… if needed.
  4. Click Return on that row (or open the key and click Return in Currently signed out).Signed-out key row with Return button — Key Log Out tab showing Return on a signed-out key
  5. Confirm or edit Received by *.
  6. Choose Condition on return: Good, Damaged, or Missing parts.
  7. Add optional Notes, then complete Signature if required (or check Save without signature when allowed).
  8. Click Confirm return.

Result: You see a success toast such as “Key [ID] returned”. The key returns to Available when condition is Good, or may show as Damaged when you selected that condition.
